Supernatural Counselor

Theme For The Week: Our main texts for this week are on the Holy Spirit. They accompany the teaching for the week here.

Intro Prayer: “Jesus, please help me in this time to be fully present to You and to myself that I may commune with You for the sake of your glory and the world around me.”

Silence: In this time, try and become silent before the Lord both internally and externally for 5 minutes. If your mind wanders, gently bring it back to stillness.

Praise: Bless the Lord by declaring these truths about Him!

“You are the God who delightful and a deliverer. You are the door to life and my defender. Your love is deep yet declarable. You defeat demons. The worship of every human is your due.”

Devotional: The Holy Spirit is not the silent partner in the Trinity whose only evidence in our lives is goosebumps from time to time. He is the Advocate, our Teacher, the One who reminds us of the words of Jesus. Realize today that with whatever you are facing you have a supernatural counselor living in you who wants to speak to you today.

Scripture: Read today’s text slowly. Feed your spirit on the words. Your goal in this time is to commune with Jesus through His Word. Take note as you sense His Presence.

John 14.25 “All this I have spoken while still with you. 26 But the Advocate, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you. 27 Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.

Worship: Worship forms the truths of Scripture deep within our lives. This week we will be worshipping to the song Surrounded. It is a powerful song and perfect for meditating on the Holy Spirit.

Listen: Take time to listen to the Holy Spirit. Write down anything you sense the Lord speaking.

Obedience: What from today is the Lord calling you to put in practice? Could be to pray for someone, to call someone, to serve someone etc.
