Supernatural Dreams and Visions

Theme For The Week: Our main texts for this week are on the Holy Spirit. They accompany the teaching for the week here.

Intro Prayer: “Jesus, please help me in this time to be fully present to You and to myself that I may commune with You for the sake of your glory and the world around me.”

Silence: In this time, try and become silent before the Lord both internally and externally for 5 minutes. If your mind wanders, gently bring it back to stillness.

Praise: Bless the Lord by declaring these truths about Him!

“You forgive sin and are faithful in all that you do. You are the first and the last. You are the Father who is building a family and fulfilling your promises. You are a friend of sinners and a consuming fire. You are the founder and perfecter of our faith. You are filled with joy and the whole earth is filled with your glory.”

Devotional: In today’s text we read an incredible passage about the Holy Spirit in our lives. Peter applies the term “last days” to history of the world post-resurrection of Jesus. Though we don’t know when Jesus will return, we do know we are living in the last days. And in these last days, God wants to give us supernatural dreams and visions as a way to speak with us. As you read today, ask the Lord for a fresh outpouring of dreams and visions in your life.

Scripture: Read today’s text slowly. Feed your spirit on the words. Your goal in this time is to commune with Jesus through His Word. Take note as you sense His Presence.

Acts 2.17-18 “In the last days, God says, I will pour out my Spirit on all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your young men will see visions, your old men will dream dreams. 18 Even on my servants, both men and women, I will pour out my Spirit in those days, and they will prophesy.”

Worship: Worship forms the truths of Scripture deep within our lives. This week we will be worshipping to the song Surrounded. It is a powerful song and perfect for meditating on the Holy Spirit.

Listen: Take time to listen to the Holy Spirit. Write down anything you sense the Lord speaking.

Obedience: What from today is the Lord calling you to put in practice? Could be to pray for someone, to call someone, to serve someone etc.
