God's Poetry
Theme For The Week: Our main text for this series of devotionals is from Genesis chapter 1. You can listen to the teaching for the week here.
Intro Prayer: “Jesus, please help me in this time to be fully present to You and to myself that I may commune with You for the sake of your glory and the world around me.”
Silence: In this time, try and become silent before the Lord both internally and externally for 5 minutes. If your mind wanders, gently bring it back to stillness.
Praise: Bless the Lord by declaring these truths about Him!
“You are the God who is abundantly generous and who is approachable. You are attentive to my life and my needs. You are abounding in love and almighty in power. You are active and my Abba Father.””
Devotional: Good poetry or good song lyrics has the power to move us deeply, to change a generation even. When we hear a certain piece our mind, will and emotions are impacted. Today’s Scripture reveals that God has made us His poetry and as such has prepared good works for us to walk in!
Scripture: Read today’s text slowly. Feed your spirit on the words. Your goal in this time is to commune with Jesus through His Word. Take note as you sense His Presence.
Ephesians 2.10 (Amplified) 10 For we are His workmanship [His own master work, a work of art], created in Christ Jesus [reborn from above—spiritually transformed, renewed, ready to be used] for good works, which God prepared [for us] beforehand [taking paths which He set], so that we would walk in them [living the good life which He prearranged and made ready for us].
Worship: Worship forms the truths of Scripture deep within our lives. This week we will be worshipping to the song Great I Am, which reminds us of the bigness and majesty of God!
Listen: Take time to listen to the Holy Spirit. Write down anything you sense the Lord speaking.
Obedience: What from today is the Lord calling you to put in practice? Could be to pray for someone, to call someone, to serve someone etc.
